Congratulations to the 2013 Bishop's Cross Award recipients. The Bishop’s Cross award is given to one male and one female graduate at each Catholic high school in the Diocese of Toledo with a high grade point average in religion, who manifests excellence in character, service and leadership.
Christina Pinciotti has a four-year GPA of 4.0 in Theology. In school, she has served as a member of Link Crew and National Honor Society. She is a member of Chorale and a founding member of Students in Action. She was a Kairos leader. In her parish, she has been an altar server and volunteers at parish dinners. She has also volunteered at the Toledo Hearing and Speech Center.
Christina is always looking for a way to help others. Her work with Students in Action has made her more aware of the needs of the greater community and what she can do to serve others. She is a positive, Christian role model, not only to her peers, but also to all who know her. She uses her vocal talents to help others worship.
This young lady is a member of St. Jerome’s parish and plans on attending the University of Toledo, majoring in theater.
Jacob Radwanski has a 3.875 GPA for Theology over four years. He has served his school community as a member of Link Crew and a Kairos leader. He was a founding member of Students in Action and helped to organize a school-wide service day. He has served as a leader on a Teens Encounter Christ Retreat. In his parish, he has been a volunteer is various ways, helping in both the church and parish school. He has served the greater community by his membership in Youth in Philanthropy Encouraging Excellence, which raises money for charities in the Toledo-area.
This young man has learned that he feels happiest and closer to God when he is serving others. He is always looking for ways to help others without the expectation of getting something in return. He is continually sharing his time and talents.
Jacob is a member of All Saints parish and plans on attending the University of Mount Saint Joseph. |
