Land Blessing and Dedication

TchannGroup

Cardinal Stritch Catholic High School and Kateri Catholic Academy would like to announce some very exciting news. George Tschann, a long time supporter of our schools has donated 15 acres of land that borders Pickle Road, Worden Road, Schmidlin Road, and Coy Road.

LandProcession

We celebrated this generous gift with a land blessing and dedication on Tuesday, October 25, 2011 at 1pm. The celebration started in the school’s gymnasium with a brief ceremony. Then, the entire high school processed with the Cardinal Stritch Catholic High School's drum line leading the way from the school to the Tschann’s home, located at 3521Pickle Road for the formal blessing. Matt Szollosi, Ohio State Representative, Mike Beazley, Oregon City Administrator, Michael Sheehy, Oregon City Council President, and Joe Herman, Kateri Catholic School’s board chairman, gave wonderful speeches at the blessing.

Thank you Geroge and Carrie Tschann for such an amazing gift!

Although Holy Rosary Catholic Church on the east side of Toledo is no longer functioning as a parish, a piece of the parish will continue to live on as the stained glass windows from the church building have been donated to Cardinal Stritch High School and Kateri Catholic Academy from the Diocese of Toledo.
