Kateri Catholic Academy Dress Code

~ IMPORTANT KCA DRESS CODE INFORMATION ~

 

Dear Parent and Student,

 

The following is an outline of Kateri Catholic Academy dress code for the 2012 - 2013 school year. The policy will be outlined in more detail in the Parent/Student Handbook.

 

Some required clothing must be purchased from Schoolbelles, located at 3324 Secor Road in Toledo or from Mr. Emblem, located at 3209 Navarre in Oregon.

 

~ APPROPRIATE DRESS FOR GIRLS ~

 

1.   Shirts polo shirts or banded polo shirts (red, white or black) with Kateri logo. Polo shirts are to be loose fitting, tucked in at all times and only be unbuttoned two (2) buttons from the top. Polo shirts must be purchased through Schoolbelles or Mr. Emblem.

2.   Pants – plain, straight-legged khaki or black pants. Pants must be worn at the waist with a black or brown belt. Pants must be Dickies brand or may be purchased from Schoolbelles. Cargo pants are not permitted.   Please note the Dickies brand is to be straight-legged, loose fitting and have no rivets.

3.   Skirts/Jumpers – plaid skirts and jumpers must be purchased from Schoolbelles. Skirts/jumpers are to be worn at an appropriate length-at the knee or no more than two (2) inches. Girls in grades K-8 may wear skirts. Only girls in grades K-4 may wear jumpers.

4.   Hair - must be neat, clean and well groomed. Fad hairstyles (including unnatural coloring) are not permitted.

5.   Earrings - no more than three (3) earrings per ear.

6.   Socks – SOLID white or black socks must be worn. Socks must be at mid-calf or to the knee. White or black tights may also be worn.

7.   Make-Up - is not permitted. All nails must be a reasonable length.

8.   Belts - must be brown or black dress belts with a simple buckle.

 

~ APPROPRIATE DRESS FOR BOYS ~

 

1.   Shirts – polo shirts or banded polo shirts (red, white or black) with Kateri logo. Polo shirts are to be loose fitting, tucked in at all times and only be unbuttoned two (2) buttons from the top. Polo shirts must be purchased through   Schoolbelles or Mr. Emblem

2.   Pants – plain, straight-legged khaki or black pants. Pants must be worn at the waist with a black or brown belt. Pants must be Dickies brand or purchased from Schoolbelles. Cargo pants are not permitted. Please note the Dickies brand is to be straight-legged, not too baggy, and have no rivets.

3.   Socks – SOLID white or black socks must be worn. Socks must cover the ankle.

4.   Hair - must be neat and clean and cannot go below the top of the collar. Fad haircuts (including unnatural coloring) are not permitted.

5.   Earrings - are not permitted.

6.   Belts - must be brown or black dress belts with a simple buckle.

        

~ APPROPRIATE DRESS FOR GIRLS AND BOYS ~

 

1.   Sweaters V-neck sweaters (red or black) with the Kateri Logo must be purchased from Schoolbelles or Mr. Emblem. All sweaters must be worn with an appropriate collared shirt/blouse underneath it.

2.   Sweatshirts/Fleece - sweatshirts/fleeces with the Kateri logo must be purchased from Schoolbelles or Mr. Emblem. All sweatshirts/fleece must be worn with an appropriate collared shirt/blouse underneath it. No hooded sweatshirts of any kind are permitted.

3.   Shoes - standard style dress shoes with hard soles are to be worn. Shoes must be worn with socks and laced and tied at all times. Shoes should be a shade of black or brown with a closed heel and toe. Athletic style shoes (white soles) are not permitted. All black coach/referee style shoes are permitted. No sports logo may be visible on the shoes. No work, combat, moccasin, slipper or cowboy style boots are permitted. No open-toed shoes or sandals are permitted.

4.   Undershirts – short-sleeved plain white, red, or black undershirts are to be worn under collared shirts. Layering of a polo shirt over a long sleeve t-shirt is not permitted.                                                                                  



~PHYSICAL EDUCATION UNIFORM~

All students are required a wear a gym uniform for physical education classes.

Uniforms must be purchased from Schoolbelles or Mr. Emblem.

 

1.   Shirts – red or black physical education uniform t-shirts.

2.   Pants – black physical education uniform shorts or sweatpants.

3.   Shoes – tennis shoes are required.

 

~ ADDITIONAL DRESS CODE REGULATIONS ~

 

1.   No hats, head coverings or gloves.

2.   No sunglasses.                                                                                                                                                       

3.   No coats are to be worn in the classrooms or hallways during the school day unless authorized by the administration.

4.   No accessories (jewelry, badges, buttons, belt buckles, etc.) related to drugs, sex or anything contrary to Christian beliefs are permitted.

5.   No visible tongue, facial or body piercings and/or tattoos. 

 

~JEANS DAYS~

Jeans Days are announced by the administration.

 

1.   Shirts – dress code shirts or KCA spirit shirts.

2.   Jeans – jeans must be loose-fitting and may not be ripped/torn.

3.   Shoes – tennis shoes may be worn with appropriate socks.

 

 

-RELAXED DRESS CODE~

Students may follow the relaxed dress code from the first day of school until Labor Day

and from May 15 through the end of the school year.

 

1. Shirts – dress code shirt with KCA logo must be worn and tucked in at all times.

2. Dress Shorts – shorts must be khaki or black but do not have to be purchased from Schoolbelles or Dickies brand.

3. Shoes – tennis shoes may be worn with appropriate socks. Flip-flops and beach footwear are never permitted.
