Kateri Catholic Academy Dress Code

Dear Parent and Student,

The following is a brief outline of Kateri Catholic Academy dress code for the 2010-2011 school year. The policy will be outlined in more detail in the Parent/Student Handbook.  Please note students who have purchased grey shirts will be allowed to wear these items. *This will be the last year to purchase grey polo shirts.

 

 

~ APPROPRIATE DRESS FOR GIRLS ~

1.    Blouses/Shirts – Polo shirts (red, white, black or grey*) with Kateri logo.  Shirts are to be tucked in at all times.
2.    Pants – Plain, straight legged khaki or black pants.  Pants must be worn at the waist with a black or brown belt.
       Pants can be purchased from Schoolbelles, Lands End or any store that sell the Dickies brand.
       No cargo pants will be permitted.
3.    Skirts – Schoolbelles plaid skirts for students in grades 5-8.  Skirts are to be worn at an appropriate length –
       to the knee (jumpers, skorts and box pleat skirts purchased at Schoolbelles will also be allowed for the
       2010-2011 school year).
4.    Jumper-Schoolbelles plaid jumpers for students in grades K to 4. Jumpers are to be worn at an appropriate length.
5.    Hair must be neat, clean and well groomed.  Fad hairstyles (including unnatural coloring) are not permitted.
6.    Earrings - no more than three (3) earrings per ear.
7.    Socks – White or black socks must be worn daily.  Socks must be at mid-calf or to the knee. 
       White or black tights can also be worn.
8.    Make-Up is not permitted at the elementary school.  All nails must be a reasonable length.

1.    Shirts – Polo shirts (red, white, black, or grey*) with Kateri Logo.  Shirts are to be tucked in at all times.
       Shirts can be purchased through Mr. Emblem or Schoolbelles.
2.    Pants – Plain, straight legged khaki or black pants.  Pants must be worn at the waist with a black or brown belt.
       Pants can be purchased from Schoolbelles, Lands End or any store that sell the Dickies brand.  
       No cargo pants will be permitted.
3.    Hair must be neat and clean and cannot go below the top of the collar.  Fad haircuts (including unnatural coloring)
       are not permitted.
4.    Earrings are not permitted.

~ APPROPRIATE DRESS FOR GIRLS AND BOYS ~

1.    Sweaters – V-neck sweaters (red, black, or grey) with the Kateri Logo.  All sweaters must be worn with an appropriate
       collared shirt/blouse underneath it.  Sweaters purchased from Mr. Emblem or Schoolbelles.
2.    Sweatshirts/Fleece - Sweatshirts/fleeces with the Kateri logo may be worn with an appropriate collared
       shirt/blouse underneath it.  No hooded sweatshirts of any kind are permitted.
3.    Shoes - Standard dress shoe styles are to be worn with socks and laced and tied at all times. 
       Shoes should be a shade of black or brown with a closed heal and toe.  Athletic style shoes
       (white soles) are not permitted.  All black coach/referee
       style tennis shoes are permitted.  No sports logo may be visible on the shoes.  No work, combat, moccasin, slipper
       or cowboy style boots are permitted.  No open-toed shoes or sandals are permitted.  
4.   **Shorts** - Students may wear black or khaki dress shorts from the first day of school until Labor Day and from
        May 15 through the end of the school year.  Shorts must be loose fitting and come too at least mid-thigh. 
        These shorts must meet the same color requirements as regular pants but DO NOT have to be purchased from
        Schoolbelles.During warm weather shorts may also be worn on other days designated by the administration. 
        When shorts are worn students may also wear tennis shoes.  Flip-flops and beach footwear are never permitted. 
        Students must wear a uniform shirt and it must be tucked in at all times.
